At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC), due to the start of SVO in Ukraine, called on all international sports federations to exclude athletes from Russia and Belarus from participation in competitions. On December 8 last year, it was announced that athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris (France), but only with a neutral individual status and subject to a number of politicized criteria.
