Athlete Maxime Afonine won gold in the shot put at the Russian Indoor Athletics Championships, held in Moscow.
The athlete showed a result of 19.22 meters. Konstantin Lyadusov took second place (19.00), Semyon Borodaev took third (18.44).
In the long jump, Danil Chechela won gold at the national championship (7.88 meters). Artem Chermoshansky (7.86) finished second, Yuri Ozhgibesov (7.81) completed the top three.
In the 400 meter race, Alexander Masyutenko took first place, covering the distance in 46.09 seconds. Nikita Lenchikov took second place (46.51), Danil Veshnyakov won bronze (46.94).
Among women in a similar discipline, Polina Tkalich won (50.78 seconds). Anna Sadovnicheva won silver (53.01), Ekaterina Ivanova took third place (53.19).
Konstantin Kholmogorov won the men’s 800 meters with a time of 1 minute 47.21 seconds. Nikolai Verbitsky (1:47.27) finished second, Stepan Peregudov (1:47.81) completed the top three.
Among women, gold was won by Olga Rodioshkina, who covered the distance in 2 minutes 2.02 seconds. Maria Prokhorets won silver (2.02.09), bronze went to Nigina Tukhtaeva (2.02.46).
The 2024 Russian Indoor Championships will end on February 25.
