Master of Sports in figure skating and former student Eteri Tutberidze Alexandra Deeva told how the famous coach influenced her life.
On Saturday, February 24, Tutberidze turned 50. Deeva trained in Tutberidze’s group from 2003 to 2010.
— Working in the Tutberidze team is an excellent school of life. Now I am no longer afraid of difficulties, I do not get tired even with a very busy schedule and without days off. I developed a strong character, many men need to go through this school of life. I trained with Eteri Georgievna for about seven years. I am grateful for this experience, as are all my other teachers and mentors, without them I would not exist today.
— Are you communicating with Tutberidze now?
— After moving to CSKA, I no longer communicated with Eteri Georgievna. I was little then and now I’m an adult, so I want to thank her for her contribution and congratulate her on her birthday.
— Do you remember any specific words of Eteri Georgievna? Perhaps she gave you valuable advice that influenced your life?
— I don’t remember any specific advice. But I realized that no one is irreplaceable. If it’s not you, someone else will. This applies to any type of activity. Life can be unfair and cruel, whether it’s an injury or just a bad day. You may get hung up on yourself, lose your way, and blame others for your failure. Or you can continue to work hard every day and move towards your goals,” Deeva told .
