Let us remind you that Shevchenko was elected as the new president of the UAF on January 25. The team of the new head of the Association also included Pavel Boychuk, Sergey Rebrov and Alexander Shevchenko as vice-presidents.

In early February, the new UAF president attended the UEFA Congress, which took place in the capital of France. There, Shevchenko, in particular, met with UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin in order, as Andrei himself wrote, “to discuss the next steps of the new leadership of the UAF and preventing the return of Russian teams to international competitions.” The Ukrainian also met with FIFA head Gianni Infantino.

Soon, the head of the Ukrainian Football Association signed a memorandum of cooperation with the president of the Italian Football Association, Gabriele Gravina.

On February 13, Shevchenko met with UPL referees at a training camp in Transcarpathia. Subsequently, the head of the UAF held meetings with representatives of UPL and PFL clubs.

Shevchenko has been actively working in the media space since the first day of the full-scale military invasion. The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team took part in several charity matches in support of Ukraine, and also became the first ambassador of the presidential initiative UNITED24, which is designed to help Ukraine in the fight against the Russian invasion.

In June 2022, Andrey Shevchenko, together with 1+1 media, launched the “Sports Front” project, designed to attract the attention of the international sports community to the war in Ukraine. The ex-coach of the Ukrainian national team also joined the Tribune of Heroes charitable foundation and met with the families of Ukrainian ultras. Shevchenko transferred 400 thousand hryvnia to the organization.

In the early hours of February 24, 2022, exactly two years ago, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has continued for the 731st day.
