“Eteri Georgievna is still here.” Figure skater Samsonov congratulated Tutberidze on his birthday

Double Russian junior champion Daniel Samsonov explained to why it was particularly interesting Eteri Tutberidze and also expressed his respect to the coach for his contribution to figure skating.

On Saturday, February 24, Tutberidze turned 50.

— First of all, Eteri Georgievna is interesting in her approach to work. This is its main characteristic that hooked me. She values every minute of her time. She works seven days a week and always tries to come to practice as much as possible, helping us all the time. For me, that’s what’s very valuable.

—Why do you respect Eteri Georgievna?

“I respect her for everything she does for me and in general for all Russian figure skating, for our sport. He is a very important person who has led many athletes to achieve high results. She works seven days a week and I understand how difficult it is. She’s still here, training with us every day, trying to go to all the competitions. I respect her for her hardworking attitude towards this sport and her work, as well as the fact that she continues to provide such athletes and tries to bring them to a high level. Even today, she educates young stars on a daily basis whom she wishes to see occupy high positions and on the steps of the pedestal.

— What is your warmest and most vivid memory associated with her?

“I probably don’t have a specific memory that I will remember for the rest of my life.” There were brilliant moments, there were failures that we went through together. The same operations, wounds and injuries. She has always been by my side, helping me in one way or another and even today continues to help me in everything. There were many shining moments. For example, my first victory at the Russian Junior Championship was very memorable for me, because the whole coaching staff was there: Sergei Viktorovich, Daniil Markovich and Eteri Georgievna, who took me onto the ice. After the victory, Sergei Viktorovich threw me into his arms, kissing me and crying.

I can’t say that there were specific moments that were the most important in my life, because there were many. In 8 years, there were probably so many that you couldn’t even count them on your fingers. I can only say that Eteri Georgievna is always with me: both during failures and during certain victories. At different times, she is always there and always helps me. That’s part of why I respect her.

– What do you wish for Tutberidze?

— I would like to wish you something non-trivial. First of all, continue to love your work so that this love never fades. So that she has enough strength and patience, because she has been working for so many years, spending so many years at the rink every day. For our part, we will try to do everything that depends on us. Most of all, I want his hard work to stay strong. So that she continues to raise such a large number of good athletes,” Samsonov told .

Under the leadership of Tutberidze, Yulia Lipnitskaya, Alina Zagitova, Anna Shcherbakova became Olympic champions, Evgenia Medvedeva, Alexandra Trusova and the sports pair Evgenia Tarasova/Vladimir Morozov became Olympic silver medalists.
