Borodavko – about the conflict between Stepanova and Bolshunov: “All people are different, you don’t need to measure everyone the same”

Senior coach of the Russian cross-country ski team Yuri Borodavko spoke about the conflict between three-time Olympic champion Alexander Bolshunov and Olympic relay champion Veronica Stepanova.

Stepanova previously called Bolshunov’s victories this season boring. The 27-year-old responded by telling The Championship that he “doesn’t want to waste his emotions on a person he’s not interested in.” The champion wrote that if “Bolshunov does not understand the meaning of the words “irony” and “sarcasm”, this is his joy. The president of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, Elena Vyalbe, urged, in a commentary on , “not to fan the flames of such nonsense.”

“It doesn’t interest me much, I don’t know the intricacies of it and I don’t consider it something interesting.” All people are different, you don’t need to measure everyone the same way. Each person has their own psychotype, nothing can be imposed. How did this story affect Bolshunov? It’s better to ask him this question,” Borodavko said, as quoted by Betonmobile.

Bolshunov became the best in all individual races this season. The skier has 21 victories at the Alfa-Bank Cup of Russia and the Spartakiad of the Strongest.
