Kondratyuk: “Maybe it was worth being in the swamp to get out”

Russian figure skater Mark Kondratyuk said he was in a “swamp” this season, but managed to get through it.

In February, Kondratyuk scored a total of 297.72 points at the Spartakiad of the Strongest and became second. Evgeny Semenenko won, Vladislav Dikidzhi closed the top three.

— The first half of the season was a failure, where did you find the strength for the second part?

— The start was not exceptional, to put it mildly. Maybe it was worth being in the swamp to get out.

— Do you watch international competitions? Who do you Love?

— I look at international departures, but selectively. I prefer to rewatch older performances. Ilya Malinin inspires, he is a genius when it comes to show jumping. Adam Xiao Him Fa, Shoma Uno, Yuma Kagiyama. Most of the time I watch Nathan Chen, Yuzuru Hanya and Zhenya Medvedeva, ”reports correspondent, reporting Kondratyuk’s words.
