The 2024 World Beach Soccer Championship took place in the UAE from February 15 to 25. 16 teams took part in the tournament.
In the final, Brazil defeated the Italian team – 6:4. This is the 15th Beach Soccer World Cup trophy for the Brazilians. The Iranian team won the bronze medal at the 2024 World Cup, defeating Belarus (6:1).
Let us remind you that the Ukrainian men’s team boycotted participation in the 2024 Beach Soccer World Cup due to the participation of a team from Belarus in the tournament. Appeals from APFU and UAF to not allow Belarus to participate in the tournament did not yield results; in addition, Belarus played under national symbols.
Ukraine won a ticket to the final tournament following the results of the European qualification, which took place in Azerbaijan. The blue-and-yellows were scheduled to compete at the Beach Soccer World Cup for the fourth time in history. In the past, the blue-yellows played at the World Cup in 2005, 2011 and 2013.
In 2021, Ukraine also qualified for the World Cup, but the Ukrainian Football Association and the Beach Soccer Association of Ukraine banned the national team from participating in the world championship in Moscow.
