Figure skater Alexandra Prokopets who performs in ice dancing with Alexander Vaskovich, spoke to about training at the headquarters of Ilya Averbukh and Elena Maslennikova.
In January this year, the dance duo joined Averbukh and Maslennikova’s group. Previously, the skaters trained with Svetlana Alekseeva, Elena Kustarova and Olga Ryabinina.
— We really like the coaching staff and the environment. We are working fruitfully. For a month we paid great attention to the technique of performing steps, improved the choreography and the emotional component. We also keep in shape, we skate a lot, we haven’t let up since January. The coaches motivate us a lot and help us with everything.
Ilya Izyaslavich often comes to us, gives valuable advice and helps with choreography. We look forward to the offseason, new program productions, to immerse ourselves in the creative process and learn new things.
In March we will play in Sochi for the last time of the season and begin preparations for the next one. There are a lot of interesting ideas and projects, we will surprise you next year,” Prokopets told .
Prokopets and Vaskovich are champions of Moscow. They finished ninth at the 2024 Russian Championships.
