Athletistic/Others. Former Russian Sports Minister Pavel Kolobkov said that the demands put forward by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Olympic Games have no regulatory basis. He noted that such conditions are not spelled out in the Olympic Charter and have never been applied before. According to him, these requirements are humiliating for Russian athletes and cannot be considered legal.

Kolobkov noted that each international federation sets its own criteria for the selection of athletes for the Olympic Games, including the possible signing of a declaration. He also noted that previously there was a certain selection procedure, determined by the international federations, and that the IOC could introduce its own additional conditions. However, this selection procedure has been completely modified following the latest decisions of the IOC.
