“Russian track and field athletes show world-class results” – Matytsin on the results of the Russian Indoor Championships

Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin summarized the results of the Russian Indoor Athletics Championships that ended in Moscow.

The Russian Indoor Championships took place in Moscow from February 23 to 25. Athletes competed for 30 sets of awards.

— Athletics in Russia continues to improve and develop. Despite the exclusion of our athletes from various international competitions, they show world-class results. High jumper Natalya Spiridonova won the championship with the third best result of the season in the world (2.00 m), and Danil Lysenko became the champion of Russia, showing the best result of the world season (2.33 m ). Furthermore, I would like to emphasize that the participation of Belarusian athletes is very important for us, as it increases the level of competition and contributes to the successful development of our bilateral relations.
