“In 2022, the uncertainty of the calendar has been very difficult for all sports federations, including the junior national teams. Today, a competition grid has been put together which allows us to compensate for lost international starts.
In current conditions, our Olympic team will not be able to participate in the Paris Games, but I am absolutely sure that in 2028 in Los Angeles, Russian athletes will compete for medals as part of a single team representing our country. We must prepare for these Games now, paying particular attention to the immediate reserve,” Pozdniakov quotes the press service of the Russian Olympic Committee.
