Dane Wingegaard wins the 18th stage of the Tour de France and strengthens his leadership, Vlasov climbs into the top 7

Danish Jumbo-Visma rider Jonas Wingegaard won the 18th stage of the Tour de France road race.

Wingegaard covered 143.5 km in 3 hours 59 minutes 50 seconds. Team Emirates’ Slovenian Tadej Pogacar (+1.04) finished second, while Belgian Jumbo-Visma cyclist Wout van Aart (+2.10) finished third.

Russian cyclist Bora-Hansgrohe competing under a neutral flag Alexander Vlasov (+4.04) finished ninth.

Wingegaard leads the overall standings with a total time of 71 hours 53 minutes 34 seconds. The second is Pogacar (+3.26), the third is the British cyclist Ineos Grenadiers Geraint Thomas (+8.00). Vlasov (+14.10) moved up to seventh place overall.

The next stage, 188.5 km long, will take place on July 22. The race will end on July 24 in Paris.
