Plushenko wished the retired Khan good luck

Double Olympic figure skating champion Yevgeny Plushenko in a Japanese-oriented social network Yuzuru Hanyu who decided to end his career.

Earlier Tuesday at a press conference, the 27-year-old Japanese figure skater announced his retirement and transition to the pros.

– Today I learned that my good friend, an outstanding figure skater, the biggest star in the history of figure skating, Yuzuru Hanyu announced his retirement. I appreciate everything he has done for figure skating. I wish him the best in his professional career and hope he brings joy to people all over the world with his performances on the show. Good luck for the future, my friend Yuzuru-san,” Plushenko wrote.

Hanyu won Olympic gold medals in 2014 and 2018, and also won World Championship gold twice (2014, 2017).

At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the Japanese took fourth place.
