CEO Shakhtar Sergei Palkin believes the Chelsea winger Mikhail Mudrik is one of the strongest football players in the world, but he needs strength and support to reveal his talent.

“I can tell you that for me Mudryk is the most talented and unique player in the world. I believe that in order to get the most out of Mudrik, as they expect, you need to invest in him. And these investments are not money.”

“The investment is time for the coaching staff to spend with him and work closely with him. Because he is a young boy, he moved from the Ukrainian Championship to the English Premier League.”

“This is a completely different world, a completely different level, a completely different football. I believe that if the coaching staff devotes some time to him, he will become three, four or five times stronger.”

Let us remember that Mudrik moved to Chelsea in January 2023 and signed a contract for eight and a half years. Chelsea and Shakhtar agreed on the transfer of Mudryk for 100 million euros.

This season, 23-year-old Mudryk has played in 26 matches for the Blues in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing three assists. However, he has not been a starter in the Premier League since December last year.

In a number of the Blues’ recent matches, Mikhail did not appear on the field at all. The team’s head coach Mauricio Pochettino previously said that the winger was on the bench due to poor form.

According to the Argentine coach, Mudryk must “feel the pain of not playing – this is part of evolution and development.” It was reported that the Blues management is considering the option of renting the Ukrainian.

Chelsea are in 11th place in the Premier League with 35 points. Mudryk’s side will next host Leeds in the FA Cup on 28 February.
