All-Russian Swimming Federation President Vladimir Salnikov told that the European Swimming Federation will not return to discuss the issue of Russian athletes’ participation in tournaments under its auspices before the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
World Aquatics allows Russians to participate in competitions under its auspices in a neutral status; European Aquatics has not reversed its decision to exclude the Russians. Thus, Russian athletes will miss the 2024 European Swimming Championships, which will be held from June 10 to 23 in Belgrade.
“Before the Olympics, European aquatic sports will not return to discuss this issue,” Salnikov told .
The Olympic Games in the French capital will take place from July 26 to August 11.
