Double world and European figure skating champion Eugenie Medvedeva commented on the Japanese figure skater’s decision Yuzuru Hanyu end a career.
Earlier Tuesday at a press conference, the 27-year-old skater announced his retirement and transition to the pros.
“Congratulations on the end of your career, legend,” Medvedev wrote on social media.
Hanyu won Olympic gold medals in 2014 and 2018, and also won World Championship gold twice (2014, 2017).
At the 2022 Olympics in Beijing, the Japanese took fourth place.
