The hosts opened the scoring early in the match, with Christian Gunther scoring. Bayern managed to come back even before the break, with Mathis Tel scoring the goal.
In the second half, Jamal Musiala scored the second goal for Munich. Thomas Tuchel’s team was close to a strong-willed victory, but missed a spectacular goal from Lucas Heller in the end.
Bayern has 54 points and ranks second in the Bundesliga. Freiburg is in ninth place with 30 points.
Bayern will next host Lazio on March 5 in the second leg of the Champions League round of 16. Freiburg will play West Ham in the Europa League playoffs on March 7.
