Ukrainian became the fifth in her race
Ukrainian runner Olga Lyakhova failed to reach the semi-finals of the 800m world championship in athletics, which takes place in the American Eugene.
The Ukrainian became the fifth in her qualifying run. According to the regulations, the three best participants advanced to the next round. Olga ran the distance in 2 minutes and 2.16 seconds.
Lyakhova is a two-time medalist at the European Athletics Championships, where she won silver (2014) and bronze (2019), as well as a two-time champion of the 2019 European Games in Minsk. In May, Olga won the competition in Savona after a long break.
Ukraine won two medals at the 2022 World Championships, both in the high jump. Bronze in the men’s competition was won by Andrei Protsenko, silver among women was won by Yaroslava Maguchy.
