Pole vault coach, European and Russian champion Yulia Golubchikova says that the athlete Alexander Solovyov managed to overcome his psychological problems during last year’s pole vault festival.
On March 3, the Moscow Arena of the National Research University MGSU will host the 5th All-Russian Pole Vault Festival, in which the youngest athletes and pole vault stars of Russia and Belarus will take part.
— The festival is a special start for us. We had some problems with Alexander last year. The festival managed to solve these problems, the festival was a momentum. The problems were different, the main one being psychological. Sasha was ready, but something didn’t work out most of the year. And we had different ideas after the Russian Championship: to finish the season and not to skip. A week later, at the festival, the results were completely different, three personal bests.
The youngest participant of the festival is my son. He constantly watches the festival and dreams of participating in it for a year now, ”the correspondent of reports Golubchikova’s words.
In February, Soloviev became the Russian indoor champion in the pole vault (5.77 meters).
