Pole vault coach and Olympic silver medalist Konstantin Volkov said that the athlete Angelique Sidorova has no physical characteristics, but thanks to Svetlana Abramova’s technique, she jumps like a “monster”.

This weekend the All-Russian pole vault festival will take place in Moscow.

“My favorite joke: Angelica jumps – that’s a woman’s take on women’s pole vault,” Abramova added.

Sidorova, 32, announced her retirement on December 9, 2023. A day earlier, World Athletics President Sebastian Coe said Russian athletes would not compete in athletics at the Paris Summer Olympics in 2024.
