Athletistic/ Figure skating. Russian figure skating coach Eteri Tutberidze spoke about Kamila Valieva’s scandalous doping story.
Previously, the athlete was disqualified for 4 years for violation of anti-doping rules. Valieva herself said that she did not consciously resort to doping.
“A coach should control a 15-year-old kid? I don’t know. Nobody wanted to think rationally.
She was first in competitions everywhere – before and after – she was clean. Why does she need to take drugs at the Russian Championship? Camila has already won the whole season, and now we are sharp, so let’s give her that,” the coach said, as quoted by NHK.
Due to her disqualification, Valieva was stripped of all adult level awards.
Now, in the best case scenario, the skater will return to the ice no earlier than December 2025.
