“I remember other times when our athletes won victories and there was joy and light in our hearts. We prepared specifically for the Olympics. This is a special competition that cannot be compared to any World Cup or European Games. The Olympics are the highest level of competition. For me, the Olympics are a real vacation,” Tarasova noted.
On December 8, the IOC authorized Russian and Belarusian athletes to participate in the Paris Olympic Games under a neutral flag. However, athletes will not be able to participate in team competitions.
The Paris Summer Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
