The Ukrainian won the first game, but the British turned the tide of the match
Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk lost to the British Katie Boulter in the final of the tournament WTA 500 in American San Diego.
The meeting lasted two hours and 14 minutes. During the match, the Ukrainian made eight double faults compared to Bulter’s 13 and scored one ace (two by Keti).
The first game went to Marta – 7:5. However, over the next two games, Kostyuk was able to take only one serve from her opponent, giving away five “her” serves at once.
On her way to the final, Kostyuk beat American Ann Lee, then passed Tayla Preston from Australia, and also beat Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and world number five Jessica Pegula. Boulter defeated two Ukrainians during the event in San Diego: in addition to Kostyuk, the British woman beat Lesya Tsurenko in the first round.
