The Briton has an unflattering attitude towards Usik’s compatriot and closest rival
Former World Heavyweight Champion Anthony Joshua made a cheeky comment about the WBC heavyweight title holder Tyson Fury in the context of his fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion against the Ukrainian Alexandra Usikawho holds the WBO/WBA/IBF/IBO titles.
“I don’t want to look like a hater. But I don’t have much respect for Fury because of all the things he says. Yes, Tyson talks a lot, so I want him to break his jaw.”
Let us remind you that Fury and Usyk are scheduled to meet in the ring on May 18. The event, as before, will be hosted by the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. The WBC proposes to reform the judges for the reporting fight, increasing their number to 5-6 people. “The Gypsy King” has already resumed work in training camp after an injury he received during sparring and resulted in the postponement of the fight.
WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman announced that an agreement had been reached between the boxers for a re-fight. The WBO is also ready to sanction the second fight. However, the fate of a possible rematch depends on the first fight. Penalties for boxers who refuse to fight are $10 million.
Joshua will fight against former UFC champion Francis Ngannou on March 8 in Riyadh. You can watch the event online on the DAZN platform via the PPV system. The viewing cost for Ukraine is $20.
