Minister of Sports of the Russian Federation Oleg Matytsin expressed his gratitude to all the countries that came to Kazan for the Friendship Games.
– I am very grateful to the hospitable Tatarstan, to all the countries that came and showed true sporting solidarity. I hope that these competitions will give a lot of impressions and give new impetus to the development of water sports in our country.

– There is money. The main thing is to have a sound idea, and we will find the money. Government and corporate money that wants to support the sport. We see that new contest formats are being offered. We see the interest of our partners and the prudent interest of the international federations. Today we received information that the windsurfing federation authorizes our athletes.
Are there contacts, at least informal?
– There are. They didn’t stop. The policy of building, not burning, bridges must prevail. As our president said, we are not going to isolate ourselves and are ready to cooperate with all the countries that are located to us.

Friendship Games is a complex water sports tournament (swimming, synchronized swimming, diving). The first stage of the competition will take place from July 21 to August 2, 2022 in Kazan.
