The Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine spoke about how the aggressor countries are trying to bring back their athletes.

Ukraine is doing everything possible to make the civilized world understand why Russians and Belarusians should be excluded from the competition. This was stated by the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadym Gutzeit in an interview with the project Sports Front.

The official also gave examples of how aggressor countries were trying to restore their rights during the war.

“There is one notable case – the International Judo Federation allowed Russian athletes to compete in Mongolia. We are very outraged by this action.

Immediately appeal to the international community. In particular, Mykhailo Koshlyak, President of the Judo Federation of Ukraine, sent official letters and also visited the European Forum, where he raised this issue.

We also met with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, where we discussed sports issues and a further development plan.

We will actively discuss the number of athletes who died in the foreground, the number of sports facilities destroyed, and show horrific footage from the complexes bombed by Russia.

This is all for the civilized world to understand why Russians and Belarusians should be excluded from competitions.

We also met with representatives of Ukrainian federations and associations, where we developed a plan to increase pressure on Russian and Belarusian athletes. Only together can we overcome the enemy, “Gutzeit said.

Let us recall that earlier the International Judo Federation allowed Russians and Belarusians to compete in their competitions under a neutral status. In response, the Ukrainian team boycotted the tournaments.

In this regard, the European Judo Federation refused to accept the decision of the International Federation and removed athletes from aggressor countries from the competition.
