Athletistic/Others. The Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) has expressed its position regarding the rules for participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris, established by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC). The RKR press release emphasizes that depriving athletes of the opportunity to use the symbols of their country and participate in award ceremonies to the sound of the Russian anthem is tantamount to depriving them of the right to nationality.

“The Russian Paralympic Committee considers this decision a form of nationality-based discrimination against our athletes. By denying athletes the right to demonstrate their affiliation with a particular country or achieve victory to the sound of the anthem of their homeland, they are in reality deprived. “This is unfair for our athletes and puts them in an unequal position compared to representatives of other countries,” notes a press release published on the official website of the RKR.
