Athletistic/Others. The press service of the Russian Paralympic Committee has published a press release dedicated to the upcoming participation of Russian athletes in the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
“Our Paralympians continue to actively prepare for the Games, aiming to achieve high results and elevate Russian sport.
According to current estimates, the preliminary composition of the delegation could include up to 225 people, including 125 athletes. This list may be adjusted depending on the situation with the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions and the decisions of the Paris-2024 organizing committee on direct invitations to the Games.
Currently, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has confirmed the allocation of 42 quotas to Russian Paralympians to participate in swimming competitions. Athletes are preparing for the next European Championships, which will be held in Madeira from April 21 to 27.
Six of the twenty-two sports have a chance to win quotas in the qualifying competitions: athletics, shooting, taekwondo, triathlon, wheelchair tennis and table tennis.
Three sports can only be represented at the Games by direct invitation from the IPC and international sports federations: powerlifting, judo and archery,” indicates the RKR press release.
