The Munich club sees a great future in the 18-year-old Frenchman
Bavaria officially announced the extension of the contract with the striker Mathis Telem until the summer of 2029.
The Frenchman is 18 years old. He moved to Bayern in the summer of 2022 from Rennes. Despite his young age, Tel is already an important player in the Munich club’s squad. This season he has played 31 matches in various tournaments, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.
Interest in Mathis was recently reported from Manchester United and two other unnamed Premier League clubs.
Tel has not yet made his debut for the senior French national team. Last fall, information appeared that the German Football Association wanted to naturalize the young talent.
Bayern are in second place in the Bundesliga, 10 points behind Bayer Leverkusen. Yesterday, March 5, Tuchel’s team defeated Lazio at home (3:0) and reached the quarter finals of the Champions League.
