Athletistic/Others. Svetlana Zhurova expressed her opinion on the criteria established by the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) for the admission of Russian Paralympians to the Summer Games in Paris.

“Initially, the Paralympic Games were a symbol of openness to all, regardless of race, gender or other factors. There were no barriers. The main idea was to revive hope among people with disabilities, to instill in them faith in the best. But now the International Committee is using this for political purposes, which is absolutely unacceptable.

They forget that they are primarily harming ordinary people who have their own dreams. All their hypocritical talk about human rights and equality just seems meaningless after treating people like this, especially people with disabilities. This is madness. I would compare their actions to torture, similar to inserting needles under the nails,” Zhurova commented on RT.

Earlier it became known that Russian Paralympic athletes will not be able to participate in the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
