Four-time Olympic medalist French skier Maurice Manifica announced that he would retire after the end of this season.
The Holmenkollen marathon will be the Frenchman’s last race as part of the French team, in which he competed for 20 years.
— My epic journey with the French cross-country ski team ends at the end of the 2023/24 season, after more than 20 years spent with it. But it is time for me to pass the baton to this already flamboyant young French team,” Manifika wrote on social networks.
Manifika, 37, has competed in four Olympics and won four bronze medals (three in relay and one in team sprint). He is also a four-time world championship medalist (1 silver and 3 bronze).
Manifica has 36 medals in World Cup races, including 10 victories in 272 starts.
