Figure skating coach Tamara Moskvina spoke about working on the ice after hip and knee joint surgery.
In February 2023, Moskvina underwent a planned hip replacement.
— Do I skate after hip and knee joint surgery? Not always. It’s of course more comfortable on skates, but before serious competitions I prefer not to bother my skaters on the ice. Skates for me are also a certain trick that allows me to move a lot instead of going to fitness clubs or other physical activities. When I’m on the ice, I feel in good shape, on par with my other colleagues. And then it is accepted all over the world: the coach must be on skates,” Moskvina said, as quoted by RT.
Tamara Moskvina specializes in working with high-performance athletes in doubles. She has trained several dozen winners and winners of pan-European, Russian and international competitions.
