Dynamo missed the victory over Veres away in the last seconds

The hosts equalized in the 9th minute of stoppage time from a penalty awarded thanks to VAR

Dynamo dramatically missed victory over Veres in the away match of the 20th round Ukrainian Premier League – 1:1.

The start of the meeting was delayed for a long time due to an air raid alert. When the starting whistle sounded, the teams started off very energetically. The hosts’ forward Marko Mrvaljevic did not take advantage of the luxurious chance, and Dynamo’s scoring attack started with Georgiy Buschan’s save. As a result, Vladislav Kabaev brought out Nazar Voloshin to shoot, and he dealt with the goalkeeper.

Until the end of the half, the Kiev team confidently played the game and could repeatedly increase the score. The best scoring opportunities were missed by Alexander Andrievsky, who hit the crossbar, and the same Voloshin.

After the break the game was more equal. Veres, with the noisy support of the fans, attacked a lot, often taking the initiative away from his status rival. Dynamo seized its chances mainly on counterattacks.

After Veres’ last attack in stoppage time, a small scuffle broke out on the field, the cause of which was a collision between Benito and Mrvaljevic in the visitors’ penalty area. Referee Dmitry Panchishin initially called a foul in favor of Dynamo, but after watching the video replay, he awarded a penalty. The Montenegrin himself shot accurately from 11 meters and saved a draw for his team.

Alexander Shovkovsky’s team did not win in the championship for the first time in seven matches and remained in fourth place in the table. Dynamo is three points behind Dnepr-1, having played two fewer games. Veres with 13 points remained in penultimate, 15th position.

In the next round, Dynamo will host Zorya, and Oleg Shandruk’s team will visit Chernomorets.
