The coach is counting on the London Arsenal player
Mentor Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov commented on the situation with the injury to the Arsenal defender Alexandra Zinchenko. The coach is counting on the player in the upcoming playoff matches for Euro 2024.
“I’m in touch with Alexander Zinchenko, we communicate a lot. Aware of his injuries. I hope he will be in Arsenal’s squad in the near future. Whether he will be in the lineup is up to the coach to decide. He will have two more games. The main thing is that he is already in the general group.”
“I am grateful to the clubs that gave us the opportunity to gather earlier, because the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team meets on May 18, but they only have one player from the national championship. We have time and players playing abroad. Many matches are being postponed in England, and only Mudrik will come to us on March 17. The rest will arrive earlier.”
Let us remember that Zinchenko last appeared on the field in a match with Liverpool in early February. After the game, Gunners head coach Mikel Arteta said that the defender again had problems with his calf muscle.
However, Zinchenko was included in the Ukrainian national team’s squad for the March playoff matches of the qualifying round for the 2024 European Championship. In total, blue-yellow coach Sergei Rebrov called up 26 players.
Let us remind you that Ukraine will compete with Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals of the European Championship qualifying playoffs. The away match for the blue-yellows will take place on March 21 in the city of Zenica at the Bilino Pole stadium. Starts at 20:45 local time (21:45 Kyiv time).
If successful, Sergei Rebrov’s team will meet with the winner of the Israel-Iceland confrontation. The final match will be a “home” match for the blue-yellows and will take place on March 26 in Wroclaw, Poland.
Euro 2024 will take place in Germany from June 14 to July 14, 2024. The matches of the European Championship will be held in arenas in Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
