Athletistic / Figure skating. Ari Zakarian, the agent of American figure skater Ilya Malinin, spoke about the quadruple Axel performed by Russian Vladislav Dikidzhi. The manager noted that the Russian skater is moving his sport forward.
“I am very happy that these guys are moving our sport forward. Vladislav and Oleg (Tataurov, Dikiji’s personal trainer – Rating Athletistic) good game. I wish Oleg would smile sometimes and Dikiji would not stop there and move forward,” Zakaryan was quoted as saying by Match TV.
On March 7, Dikiji posted a video on his Telegram channel in which he performs a 4.5-round clean Axel during training. The first skater in history who managed to perform this element cleanly at official competitions was Ilya Malinin.
In the 2023/2024 season, Vladislav Dikidzhi won silver at the Russian Championship, won two stages of the country’s Grand Prix, and also became third at the Spartakiad.
