Kilian, the author of the double in San Sebastian, beat Kane, Orban and Akanji in the vote
Attack Paris Saint-Germain Kylian Mbappe awarded two awards at once – player of the week and author best goal of the week V Champions League.
On March 5, the French forward scored a double against Real Sociedad in an away match (2:1), allowing the Parisians to easily advance to the quarter finals of the main European Cup. The first of these goals, scored in the 15th minute, was eventually recognized as the best for both game days of the week in the Champions League.
In voting for the best football player, Kylian beat out serious competitors – Bayern forward Harry Kane, who scored a double against Lazio, Leipzig defender Willy Orban, who scored against Real Madrid, and his colleague Manuel Akanji from Manchester City, who opened the scoring in the game against Copenhagen.
The 25-year-old Frenchman is having a phenomenal season – 34 goals (six of them in the Champions League) and seven assists in 34 matches for the club.
This coming summer, Mbappe is highly likely to move to Real Madrid, with whom he has already agreed on a five-year contract.
