Figure skater Stanislava Konstantinov declared that she would not participate in the tournament of the show program “Russian Challenge” by the decision of the organizers.
Previously, the athlete was included in the list of participants in the tournament which will be held on Saturday in St. Petersburg.
— Unfortunately, I am not skating at the “Russian Challenge” in “Yubileiny” by decision of the organizers. I cried for two hours. I didn’t expect such a result and it was possible. I didn’t think they would come up to me and tell me I wouldn’t perform because they didn’t like my performance, they didn’t like my skating. They said my skating was empty, that I didn’t roll at all, that I had no speed, that I didn’t fit into the format based on physical criteria. Unfortunately, I won’t be playing tomorrow. I am very upset, I have invested a lot in this matter. I put my soul into it. I was very happy to have participated in this tournament, I was incredibly inspired to perform in my favorite city.
In no case do I want a conflict, to argue with someone. I accept criticism, but when experts tell me I didn’t like something, I will certainly accept it, but it was very cruel. I came here, I got ready. You can’t imagine how much I screamed when I found out I was going to play. I got involved, made a costume and skated in it today. Everyone liked the idea of my act, it was very funny. It’s just fun, there’s no amazing choreography. I didn’t turn to any great director. I’m really sorry you didn’t like the piece. I accept this, I respect our specialists very much, but this does not change the fact that I am incredibly offended and hurt now,” Konstantinova said on the Telegram channel.
The winner of the Russian Challenge will receive a reward of 5 million rubles.
