LNZ defender – about the match against Metalist 1925 in the 20th round of the UPL
Cherkasy LNZ defender Alexander Nasonov summed up the results of the away match against Kharkov Metalist 1925 and assessed the upcoming match against Dnepr-1.
— The Kharkiv team had a long series of 7 defeats. Did you consider yourself favorites before this game?
— I don’t think we approached this meeting as favorites. We approach each game with maximum concentration. It was only through theory that I learned that Metalist 1925 had such a streak without victories. It’s a pity that we missed the victory at the end of this meeting.
– Let’s remember these two key moments of the game – penalties?
— When we took the penalty, I didn’t see it, I was too far from the episode. And Rybalka got the ball in her hand.
— It was surprising to see how the players of both teams did not particularly argue with the referee in these episodes…
– Why argue? There is VAR. Everything is visible there. Although in the last round, when we played in Zhitomir with Polesie, I, I think, had a clean red card. But the referee did not go to the field to look at VAR. They played very hard against me then.
— If we compare your two games – with Polesie and with Metalist 1925, where did you play better?
— In Zhitomir, definitely. Metalist 1925 has an unusual tactic. Kharkiv players play with a diamond in the middle of the field. The opponent has four players in the center of the field and two forwards. In Ukraine, very few people play. We knew how they would play and prepared for it. But it’s one thing to know, and another thing to know how you’ll play on the football field.
— NIs anyone’s account logical?
– I think yes. Draw game.
— You also didn’t beat the Kharkov club in the first round?
— Yes, we lost 0:1. They score a lot of points with us. Now we are preparing for the match with Dnepr-1.
— Did you expect them to lose to Rukh at home?
— Dnepr-1 is fighting for the championship. So this is an unexpected result.
