“People have become puppets.” Kogan – about the decision of the ISU to withdraw Russia

Director General of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan during a conversation with RT commented on the withdrawal of Russian athletes from international competitions.

– We were immediately informed that at the moment we are suspended from all ISU tournaments and this decision is not discussed. But an interesting question: when one or another country invites our skaters or coaches to give masterclasses abroad, for some reason no one even remembers about safety. As well as the fact that the mental health of children can suffer from unwanted communication with the Russians if we suddenly send our athletes to the country. And at competitions, it turns out, this question is brought almost to the fore.

After the congress in Thailand, many said to me and to our delegates who have been elected to certain positions: they say, don’t get us wrong, we are not voting against you personally, but have simply received certain instructions from top regarding Russia as a whole , – says Kogan.

According to him, some delegates even apologized for having been forced to do so.

– It was most offensive – to understand that people with whom you communicated quite normally for many years, suddenly turned into puppets without exception: on command, they turned the other way and did what they were told, – added the head of the FFKKR.

In the spring, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions under its auspices due to the situation in Ukraine.
