The Rock will team with Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins
Legendary wrestler, famous actor and entrepreneur Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson will be part of the anniversary Wrestlemania 40the main show of the wrestling promotion World Wrestling Entertainment.
The Rock will team with the undisputed WWE Universal Champion on day one of Wrestlemania 40 Roman Reigns and will play a match against Cody Rhodes and world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins.
This will be Dwayne’s first match in WWE since 2016, when he defeated Erick Rowan in a 6-second match at Wrestlemania 32. Note that in 2012 and 2013, The Rock fought twice in the main event of Wrestlemania against John Cena.
Interestingly, Reigns, Rhodes and Rollins will each have two matches at Wrestlemania 40. On the second day of the event, Roman and Cody will meet for the undisputed WWE Universe Championship, while Seth will defend the World Heavyweight Championship against the winner of Elimination Chamber 2024, Drew McIntyre.
Note that if Dwayne and Roman win the tag team match, the fight between Reigns and Rhodes for the undisputed championship will take place without rules. If Cody and Seth win, then representatives of Bloodline (the group of Reigns and The Rock) will be prohibited from being at the ring.
Wrestlemania 40 will take place in Philadelphia at Lincoln Financial Field on April 6 and 7.
