Ukrainian hammer thrower Mikhail Kokhan became a triumphant European Cup 2024 in throwing, which takes place in Leiria (Portugal).
In a bitter fight, Kokhan beat the bronze medalist of the 2023 World Cup and the silver winner of the 2022 European Championship – Hungarian Bence Halasz. Mikhail also set a season record of 78.13 meters.
For Mikhail Kokhan, the victory in Leiria is the second this season. In early February, the Ukrainian triumphed at an event in France with a score of 77.06 meters. Last year, Kokhan won silver at the 2023 European Games in hammer throw.
The European Cup in throwing disciplines will last in Portugal until March 10. Kokhan’s award is so far the only one in the medal standings for the Ukrainian team.
