“I proposed the idea to him in mid-January. The whole team liked it and we started waiting for Lisa to return to her rink so we could start implementing it. But a few weeks ago, Lisa told me that she wanted to take poems by Russian poets for this show. At that time, she had not yet decided whether they would be poems by Tsvetaeva, Akhmatova or others. I began to select poems in sung and recited versions. I collected many examples and sent them to Lisa. She was hooked by this poem performed by Alisa Freindlich. We also thought about music, we wanted to replace Chopin with something else. Ultimately, we settled on his music.

Then we had to think about the concept. The funny thing is, Lisa asked me about the concept right before I was about to board the plane. I replied, “I now have a two-hour flight and I’m going to think about something up there.” » So, the idea of ​​a candle came to me in the air, and I dictated it to Lisa before landing. She was inspired and we were soon on the ice to put it into action.

We put together a number pretty quickly. Then Artem Fedorchenko came and helped us with legs, ligaments and transitions. Alexey Nikolaevich suggested starting with the fact that Lisa writes poetry, a candle lights up and a lamp appears. We thought the lamp would shine, but that’s not so important anymore.
