George is confident of his victory over Vasily
Australian boxer George Kambosos commented on the upcoming fight against the former world champion in three weight categories Vasily Lomachenko. Kambosos affirmatively stated that he was familiar with Lomachenko’s fighting style, calling his manner in the ring “Russian.”
“I myself belong to this Russian style. I know this style very well. I had ten years with this style.”
It should be noted that multiple medalist of the Russian Boxing Championship Artur Subkhankulov is in Kambosos’ training camp. And the Australian’s coaching staff includes another Russian, Anton Kadushin.
The fight between Vasily and George for the vacant IBF lightweight belt will take place on May 12. The event, which also includes two undercard fights, will take place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia, starting at approximately 5 a.m. Kyiv time.
Let us remember that in May 2023, Lomachenko lost to Devin Haney in a fight for the title of absolute world champion. In turn, Kambosos defeated Briton Maxi Hughes in his last fight, winning the IBO lightweight title.
