Athletistic/ Figure skating. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov spoke about the disqualification of Kamila Valieva.
The Russian figure skater was suspended for four years. According to Peskov, the athlete did not deserve such punishment.
“We consider the decisions taken regarding Valieva, unfair. The whole country supports her,” Peskov told SE.
The CAS announced Valieva’s disqualification on January 29. The figure skater was stripped of all titles in adult competitions.
In the best case scenario, Valieva will be able to return to the ice and resume participation in competitions in December 2025.
In early March, Valieva was kicked out of the Russian figure skating team.
