Double Olympic champion in synchronized swimming Vlada Chigireva She said she doesn’t yet have plans for when she will recover after surgery, but is remaining positive.
Chigireva underwent surgery on her injured knee this week.
“I’m not looking that far yet,” Chigireva told , responding to a question about the recovery time. – In ten days the stitches will be removed, in 2-3 weeks I will be able to go to full rehabilitation – for now they have given me exercises that I can do in bed. They taught me how to walk with crutches, even though I was already a master at it.
When I had surgery on my left leg, it took me 4-5 months before I returned to training camp with the team; before that I worked out at the gym and swam slowly on my own. I think it will be about the same now, but my schedule is quite calm and free, I won’t force it. But like a real mermaid, I want to quickly jump into the water or at least lie down in the bath. This is the first question the surgeon asks: “When can I lie down in the bath?”
And so everything is in normal mode. So far, of course, everything hurts and swells, but, as always, stay positive, with faith in a wonderful future. Plus, I was given a bike for my birthday, I want to ride it by summer.
