The Brazilian intends to sue $82 million and regain the championship title
Legendary pilot Ferrari Felipe Massa filed a lawsuit against Formula 1 And FIA.
The Brazilian demands compensation in the amount of $82 million, as well as a review of the results of the 2008 season. Representatives of Massa confirmed filing a lawsuit in a London court.
In the 2008 season, Massa fought for the championship title with Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso. During the Singapore Grand Prix, Alonso’s partner, Nelson Piquet Jr., made a maneuver that led to damage to the Brazilian’s car.
Massa was forced to lose his lead by making a pit stop. At the end of the race, Felipe finished 13th and gave the victory to Alonso, and Hamilton became the season champion, one point ahead of the Brazilian.
The amount of the claim ($82 million), according to Massa, is compensation for the lost championship title and advertising contracts that were not offered to the driver because of the lost title.
Felipe Massa competed in F1 for 15 seasons.
