Inter management discusses details of a new contract with Lautaro Martinez’s agent

The Argentine himself wants to stay at the Milan club

Managers Inter met in Madrid with the agent of the Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez.

It is reported that negotiations on a new contract with the Argentine are going well; Martinez himself wants to remain at the Milan club. At this meeting, “key details” regarding wages were discussed. More discussions will take place in the coming weeks.

Let us remember that in December, Inter general director Giuseppe Marotta said that the club was working on extending the agreement with the striker until 2028. Previously, the player’s agent Alejandro Camano said that Lautaro’s new agreement with the club was “good for both parties.”

The 26-year-old Argentine has been playing for the Nerrazzuri since 2018. The player’s current agreement runs until the summer of 2026.

This season, Martinez has made 35 appearances for Inter in all competitions. The forward has 26 goals and five assists. Lautaro was named Serie A’s best player in October. In February, the striker set a new achievement – he became the third Milan club player in history to score at least 20 goals in Serie A in three consecutive seasons.

Inter confidently leads the Italian championship, ten rounds before the finish, ahead of Milan by 16 points. Today at 22:00 the Nerazzurri will play in Madrid in the second leg of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Atlético Madrid. The first meeting in Milan brought victory to the hosts (1:0).
