Figure skaters Taisiya Shcherbinina and Artem Petrov, playing in a sporting duo, said they were entering the final of the Russian Grand Prix among juniors in the best form of the season.

At the final of the Russian Junior Grand Prix in Sochi, the pair received 61.77 points for the short program.

Shcherbinina: My form at the Russian Championship was not the best. Now we are happy with the performance, it’s a shame that the release (failed)… Thanks to our technical staff, we overcame the difficulties thanks to them. Thanks to them for their support.

—How is your health now?

— Before the Russian championship, I went to training, we had three days left before leaving for the start. I went to practice and they told us we had 12 minutes to decide if we were going or not. I said – let’s go, suddenly a miracle will happen. Unfortunately, the miracle did not happen.

Petrov: We were very motivated by our performance at the Russian Championship. Frankly: our performance there was generally unsuccessful. Today we arrived in our best form of the season, we have prepared for a long time and now we are at the peak of our season. We tried to show our best. We got together at the beginning of May and I think we entered the season well. “Further is better,” the correspondent reported the skaters’ words.
