“Changes in the rules killed rhythm dance” – figure skater Katsalapov

Olympic champion Nikita Katsalapov who practices ice dancing with Victoria Sinitsina, said changes in the rules had killed rhythm dancing.

On Wednesday, Sinitsina and Katsalapov hold a creative meeting with “Knowledge” within the framework of the “Russia” exhibition and forum at VDNKh.

— This year, rule changes killed the short program. No one, not even the skaters, can distinguish what is happening on the ice. When Victoria and I got on the ice, it was clear where the support was, where another element was. My fellow commentator Alexander Grishin asks me to explain what is happening on the ice. I look and I don’t understand. “I have been asking all year to change the rules of the short program,” reports the correspondent, according to Katsalapov’s words.

Sinitsina and Katsalapov are Olympic silver medalists, world, European and Russian champions.
